THE ADVISORY BOARD
The Rainbow History Project Advisory Board includes members of our community, of the historical and archival community, who provide a crucial resource for the history of our community and for maintaining the professional integrity of our activities.
The Advisory Board includes
Mr. Barrett Brick A leading member of Bet Mishpacha, GLAA, community organizer and activist
Ms. Carlene Cheatam Past head of the DC Coalition, DC Black Pride, Capital Pride and a tireless campaigner for civil rights for the community, former mayoral liaison to the gay community
Ms. Mame Dennis/
  Mr. Carl Rizzi
President of the Academy of Washington, longtime involvement with training/mentoring  and providing venues and support for DC's female impersonators
Mr. Steven Mandeville-Gamble Head, Gelman Library Special Collections, George Washington University
Ms. Letitia Gomez A leading member of the Hispanic LGBT community, past president of Enlace, and involved in community organizations
Mr. Jim Harvey A leading HIV/AIDS educator, community activist, first African American gay candidate for DC City Council
Dr. Loraine Hutchins Founder AMBi, researcher and writer, activist on bisexual issues and religious issues
Mr. A Billy S Jones Founder National Coalition of Black Gays, past president DC Coalition, leading activist for gay and bisexual rights
Dr. Franklin E Kameny Founder Mattachine Society - DC, civil rights activist, founding member Gay Activists Alliance
Ms. Jennifer King Historian/manuscripts librarian, Gelman Library Special Collections, George Washington University
Dr. William Leap Anthropologist, founder of Lavender Languages Conference, professor at American University
Ms. Jane Freundel Levey Historian and Director of Publications at the Cultural Tourism DC
Ms. Patsy Lynch Photographer/documentarian of Washington DC's GLBT community since 1975
Mr. Deacon Maccubbin Founder of Earthworks & Lambda Rising, leader of community business groups, and instrumental in reviving/perpetuating the annual Gay Pride celebration
Dr. Tom Mayes Preservationist at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, with an interest in GLBT preservation issues
Mr. Ric Mendoza-Gleason Former member of the Board, leader in the Latino LGBTQ community
Ms. Gail McCormick Vice-president, Archivist, Chief Librarian, the Historical Society of Washington DC
Dr. Stephen Morris Professional historian, specialist in historic preservation issues, works with the National Park Service
Dr. Angel D Nieves Specialist in historic preservation, professor of history and communications at the University of Maryland, College Park
Mr. Philip Pannell Former Special Assistant to the President of the DC School Board and former gay liaison for the Mayor's office, Chairman of Ward 8 Democrats, civil rights activist, longtime member of the DC Coalition
Mr. Peter Share Educator, involved with writing the DCPS curriculum for Washington History
Mr. Larry Stansbury Founding member Spartans MC, Exec. Director of Brother, Help Thyself
Mr. Bob Summersgill Past president of GLAA, researcher and historian of sodomy law reform
Mr. Otis 'Buddy' Sutson Chairman and charter member, the Best of Washington, currently with Damien Ministries, organizer of social activities for African-American gay men and lesbians
Ms. Jane Troxell Long active in Washington, DC lesbian activities, past (and present) manager of Lambda Rising and past owner of Lammas Books.
